Barbara’s watercolors reveal the energy of spirit as it comes through in color so viewers can find inner peace.
Her work has received numerous awards and acceptance into national juried shows.
Growing up in England in rural Norfolk an area home to so many famous painters including John Constable, Edward Seago and Thomas Gainsborough, painting is in her blood.
She blended her love of art with her love for the land and all nature (except maybe mosquitoes) and spent 35 years with a pen in her hand as a landscape architect and landscape ecologist painting the land with plants and designing the bends back in rivers to prevent flooding.
As a teen her first solo trip to Morocco set the scene for many explorations around the world such as working with the local tribes in Papua New Guinea, hiking the Himalayas and canoeing rapids in Idaho.
After meeting her American husband on a peace retreat in California, they moved to the US, exploring from east to west before settling in Boulder CO.
Her lifetime interest in watercolors re-ignited after finding herself painting during her studies as a Doctor of Spiritual Science and the exciting discovery of the vivid colors that transparent watercolor can bring.
This led her to immerse herself in this passion and allow the blossoming of the joy that connecting with spirit and art can bring in a traditional and abstract, fun and dynamic way as it invites a glimpse of spiritual perception.
Part self-taught and part studying with some of the top watercolor artists, she has exhibited at Tubac, Arizona and in Colorado at Steamboat Springs, pARTiculars in Lafayette and R Gallery in downtown Boulder.
